High school sports come in all different shapes and sizes, but one thing almost always remains the same here in the Frontier Athletic Conference: Jackson and Chillicothe playing for a championship.

This Tuesday, the Chillicothe Lady Cavs play their final game in the Hatton Gymnasium for the 2022 season as they will be facing the Jackson Ironladies for the FAC title. Before Tuesday night's highly-anticipated matchup, here's a look at how both teams have gotten to this point.

Chillicothe currently sits at (9-9) overall with a (6-3) FAC record in Anthony Gordon's second full season as the Lady Cavs' head coach. Despite a roller coaster season filled with injuries and challenges in the non-league schedule, the Lady Cavs, led by starters Jacey Harding, Emma Barnes, Emma Fromm, and Avery Erslan, have found success in FAC play as they find themselves in second place. Chillicothe comes into Tuesday night's game winners of 5 of their last 6 with their most recent win coming over KIPP Columbus last Wednesday night.

Jackson comes into this week's game with a lot at stake. A win would not only give them an outright FAC title, but it would also reward them with their most wins in a season since 2017 and their first league championship since then. With a (12-6) record overall and a (7-2) FAC record, no way to end the regular season would be better for the Ironladies than a victory over the Lady Cavs in the Hatton Gym. Even after a 32-28 loss to South Point on January 31st, Jackson remains confident coming into Tuesday night's game with senior Katelyn Webb and sophomores Kenzie Davis and T.J. Carpenter leading the way.

These two teams squared off in Jackson back on December 18th, with a three-pointer late in the fourth quarter from Jackson's Katelyn Webb lifting the Ironladies to a 30-29 victory over Chillicothe. Webb led Jackson and all scorers with 13 points and 5 rebounds, while Jacey Harding led the Lady Cavs with 10 points and 6 rebounds.

Tip-off from the Hatton Gym will be at 5:30 p.m. for the junior varsity game, with the varsity game to follow at 7 p.m.
