Chillicothe High School's orchestra students saw success at the state level this month. On Saturday, February 25th, the Orchestra Program, under the direction of Mr. Thomas Watts, traveled to Reynoldsburg, Ohio, to perform at the annual OMEA event.

The CHS Symphonic Orchestra played three pieces to earn a 1, also known as a Superior rating.

The Chillicothe Concert Orchestra played "Dragon Fire" by Susan H. Day, "A Nordic Lullaby" by Edvard Grieg, and "Adventure" by Liam Ramsey-White, earning a rating of 3 for their state contest performance.

Both groups also completed sight reading at the event, another portion of the contest which returned for the first time since 2020.
