Chillicothe High School students have brought the planter in the library hallway back to life. According to Mrs. Dawn Wilson, the students planted a mix of Dieffenbachia, Harlequin Cordylines, succulents, herb, and native Ohio wildflowers, including cornflower and black-eyed Susan.
AP Bio’s orange and gray isopods and a few centipedes are also part of the ecosystem. Wilson said that the class plans to add raised beds for bush beans, allium, and Venus flytraps, along with hanging plants above.
"Botany has had some assistance from AP Environmental Science, Marine Bio, and my Personal Learning Block students, so this has truly been a group effort," Wilson said. "Come on down and see what the kids have grown so far, and watch as it all unfolds!"
