Miami Trace 35, Chillicothe 21
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Baron Phipps and Julian Baker each ran for two touchdowns as Miami Trace rallied from a 14-point deficit to defeat Chillicothe 35–21 on Friday night.
Chillicothe (3–3) started fast with a 40-yard touchdown run by Cartae Ligon on fourth down, followed by a 7-yard touchdown pass from Tay Harris to Jeremy Cain to make it 14–0.
Miami Trace (6–0) answered before halftime with a 1-yard TD run from Baker, set up by a triple-option keeper by Phipps, tying the game 14–14.
Phipps scored on a 6-yard run early in the third to give the Panthers the lead, but Ligon responded with another 40-yard touchdown to put Chillicothe back in front, 21–20.
From there, Miami Trace took control. Baker scored his second touchdown, and the Panthers added a two-point conversion to make it 28–21. A final rushing score by Phipps sealed the victory.
The Panthers dominated the second half behind strong offensive line play, led by senior Adam Guthrie.
