2nd Annual William Gozy Parade set for April 28th

The 2nd Annual William Gozy Parade takes place from 1:45-2:45 p.m. on Friday, April 28th, 2023. According to Chillicothe High School French teacher and National Honor Society Advisor Mrs. Jami Massie, the parade will begin and end at the high school parking lot, extending to 2nd Street in between.

"It's open to any Chillicothe City School District student and staff, and then there will be businesses and the community will participate as well -- they make signs and posters and they'll stand along the streets," said Massie.

William Gozy is an online freshman student who was diagnosed with Nijmegen Breakage Syndrome, which is a rare disease that increases the risk of cancer and reduces immune response.

Last year, Massie led the charge for a scholarship to be granted to a Chillicothe High School NHS senior under the name of William Gozy.

T-shirts, long sleeves, and hoodies for the parade are being sold through Chillicothe Signs and Screen Printing with proceeds from the sale going into the William Gozy Scholarship Fund. According to Massie, for every t-shirt that is sold, $5 will go into the fund.

Shirt orders must be placed by Friday, April 14th, 2023, to Massie in CHS classroom #219.
