The Tri-M Music Honor Society partnered with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive on October 6th, 2026, in the Hatton Gym, collecting 21 units of blood and potentially helping save 72 lives.

The drive, advised by choir director Mr. Ian Stasko, brought in 24 presenting donors, including six first-time donors. Of those who presented to donate, six were deferred, meaning they were unable to donate that day.

The event collected 13 units of whole blood and eight Power Red units, which are collected through a process that allows donors to give concentrated red blood cells while returning other blood components to the donor.

Although the drive fell short of its goal of 24 productive units, the 21 units collected represented a significant contribution to the American Red Cross blood supply. According to Stasko, the donations were estimated to potentially save 72 lives.

Through its partnership with the American Red Cross, Tri-M helped provide students and community members with an opportunity to donate blood and support patients in need.
