CHS Football Players Named to All-District Team

Despite a season in which the Chillicothe Cavaliers football team fell just short of the playoffs, CHS did however post their second straight winning season and their 8th winning season in the last 9 years. For their efforts in 2021, five Cavalier football players were named to the All-Southeast District Team this past weekend.

Junior Maxwell Lee was named to the All-District team as a running back. In 9 games this season, he averaged 5.8 yards per carry and ran 9 touchdowns in on the year, three of which came in the Cavaliers' comeback win against Greenfield McClain. Senior Isaac McCory made the All-District team as a linebacker. McCory made 60 tackles and had 11 tackles for loss in the 2021 season. In the defensive backfield, senior Xzavier Doss was awarded a spot on the All-District squad, as well. Doss, along with McCory and Lee, were named to the All-FAC team prior to their All-District selections. Seniors Chucky Thomas (running back) and Carson Francis (defensive lineman) were selected to the team as Special Mentions.
