CHS/CMS Students Rewarded for Good Behavior

Chillicothe High & Middle School students who demonstrated positive behavior and good attendance for the first half of the school year are being rewarded this week.

Through Positive Behavior Intervention and Support, eligible freshmen and sophomores will enjoy the Get Air trampoline park on Wednesday, juniors and seniors will go to Top Golf on Thursday, and middle schoolers will go ice skating at Chiller on Friday.

According to CMS math teacher Mrs. Nancy Arledge, eligibility in PBIS activities has increased.

"PBIS is effective because it gives students a goal to reach and a way to reach their goal as fair as attendance, behavior, and just doing the right thing," said Arledge.

A slight change to the program gives students a chance for character growth.

"This year, we instituted where the students can make up 1 of their discipline infracts so it teaches them to take reasonability for their behavior and to do the right thing," Arledge said.
