Some changes are coming to the Chillicothe City School District for the 2026-2027 school year. Most notably, bands of students in the various school buildings will be adjusted. According to superintendent Deborah Swinehart, preschoolers will move from Mt. Logan to CPS, 3rd graders will move from CPS to CIS, and 6th graders will move from CIS to CMS.
According to Swinehart, the changes were made as many Ohio schools feel the impact of inflation and a loss of state funding: “After careful review and planning, we must make adjustments to maximize our available resources, maintain fiscal responsibility, and ensure the sustainability of our district.”
Swinehart also said in a letter to parents that there will be changes in student transportation and start/dismissal times, which will be announced at a later date.
